How to uninstall Google Chrome from your computer

Google Chrome is a Windows application. Read below about how to uninstall it from your PC. The Windows release was developed by Google Inc.. You can find out more on Google Inc. or check for application updates here. The program is usually placed in the C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application folder (same installation drive as Windows). You can uninstall Google Chrome by clicking on the Start menu of Windows and pasting the command line C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\37.0.2062.102\Installer\setup.exe. Keep in mind that you might receive a notification for administrator rights. old_chrome.exe is the Google Chrome's primary executable file and it occupies circa 890.32 KB (911688 bytes) on disk.

If you are manually uninstalling Google Chrome we suggest you to check if the following data is left behind on your PC.

Folders left behind when you uninstall Google Chrome:
  • C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application
  • C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome
  • C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Google Chrome

Check for and delete the following files from your disk when you uninstall Google Chrome:

Open regedit.exe to remove the values below from the Windows Registry:
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Google Chrome\DisplayName
