How to uninstall Atom from your PC

Atom is a Windows application. After the uninstall process, the application leaves leftovers on the PC. Some of these are shown below.

Folders remaining:

• C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Local\atom
• C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Roaming\IDM\DwnlData\UserName\atom-installer_github_com_10043

You will find in the Windows Registry that the following keys will not be uninstalled; remove them one by one using regedit.exe:

• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MIME\Database\Content Type\application/atom+xml
• HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\atom

A way to delete Atom with Advanced Uninstaller PRO

Atom is an application by GitHub Inc.. Frequently, users choose to uninstall this application. 2. Start Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take some time to get familiar with the program's interface and wealth of tools available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very good Windows optimizer.

3. Click on the General Tools button


4. Press the Uninstall Programs tool


5. All the programs existing on the computer will be made available to you

6. Scroll the list of programs until you find Atom or simply activate the Search feature and type in "Atom". If it exists on your system the Atom program will be found automatically. Notice that when you select Atom in the list of apps, the following data about the program is made available to you:

• Safety rating (in the left lower corner). This explains the opinion other users have about Atom, from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
• Opinions by other users - Click on the Read reviews button.
• Technical information about the application you wish to uninstall, by pressing the Properties button.

7. Click the Uninstall button. A confirmation dialog will come up. accept the uninstall by pressing the Uninstall button. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will uninstall Atom.


8. After uninstalling Atom, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will offer to run an additional cleanup. Click Next to start the cleanup. All the items that belong Atom that have been left behind will be detected and you will be asked if you want to delete them. By removing Atom with Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you are assured that no Windows registry entries, files or directories are left behind on your system.

Your Windows system will remain clean, speedy and able to take on new tasks.
