How to uninstall VeraCrypt from your system

If you are manually uninstalling VeraCrypt we advise you to verify if the following data is left behind on your PC.

You should delete the folders below after you uninstall VeraCrypt:

• C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Roaming\VeraCrypt

The files below remain on your disk when you remove VeraCrypt:

• C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Roaming\VeraCrypt\Configuration.xml

How to remove VeraCrypt from your PC using Advanced Uninstaller PRO

VeraCrypt is a program released by IDRIX. Sometimes, users decide to erase this application. This can be efortful because doing this manually requires some skill regarding Windows internal functioning. The best EASY way to erase VeraCrypt is to use Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Here is how to do this:





1. If you don't have Advanced Uninstaller PRO already installed on your Windows system, install it. This is good because Advanced Uninstaller PRO is one of the best uninstaller and general tool to clean your Windows computer.

• download the program by pressing the green DOWNLOAD button
• install Advanced Uninstaller PRO

2. Start Advanced Uninstaller PRO. It's recommended to take your time to get familiar with Advanced Uninstaller PRO's design and wealth of tools available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very good PC management program.

3. Press the General Tools category


4. Activate the Uninstall Programs button


5. A list of the programs installed on your computer will be shown to you

6. Scroll the list of programs until you find VeraCrypt or simply click the Search field and type in "VeraCrypt". If it is installed on your PC the VeraCrypt app will be found very quickly. Notice that when you select VeraCrypt in the list of apps, the following information regarding the program is made available to you:

• Safety rating (in the left lower corner). This explains the opinion other people have regarding VeraCrypt, from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
• Opinions by other people - Press the Read reviews button.
• Technical information regarding the program you want to uninstall, by pressing the Properties button.

For instance you can see that for VeraCrypt:

• The uninstall string is: C:\Program Files\VeraCrypt\VeraCrypt Setup.exe

7. Click the Uninstall button. A confirmation page will show up. accept the removal by pressing the Uninstall button. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will then remove VeraCrypt.


8. After uninstalling VeraCrypt, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will offer to run an additional cleanup. Press Next to go ahead with the cleanup. All the items that belong VeraCrypt which have been left behind will be detected and you will be asked if you want to delete them. By removing VeraCrypt using Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you are assured that no registry entries, files or directories are left behind on your system.
