A guide to uninstall VeraCrypt from your system

VeraCrypt is a computer program. VeraCrypt has the habit of leaving behind some leftovers.

You should delete the folders below after you uninstall VeraCrypt:
  • C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\VeraCrypt
  • C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Roaming\VeraCrypt

The files below are left behind on your disk when you remove VeraCrypt:
  • C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\VeraCrypt\Uninstall VeraCrypt.lnk
  • C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\VeraCrypt\VeraCrypt Website.url

How to delete VeraCrypt from your PC using Advanced Uninstaller PRO

VeraCrypt is an application offered by IDRIX. Some users decide to remove it. This can be difficult because doing this manually requires some advanced knowledge regarding removing Windows applications by hand. The best EASY approach to remove VeraCrypt is to use Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Here are some detailed instructions about how to do this:





1. If you don't have Advanced Uninstaller PRO already installed on your Windows PC, add it. This is a good step because Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very efficient uninstaller and all around tool to take care of your Windows computer.

  • download the program by clicking on the green DOWNLOAD button
  • set up Advanced Uninstaller PRO
2. Run Advanced Uninstaller PRO. It's recommended to take your time to admire the program's design and wealth of features available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very good package of tools.

3. Click on the General Tools button

5. All the applications installed on the PC will be made available to you

6. Navigate the list of applications until you find VeraCrypt or simply click the Search field and type in "VeraCrypt". The VeraCrypt app will be found very quickly. Notice that when you click VeraCrypt in the list of programs, the following data about the application is shown to you:


  • Safety rating (in the lower left corner). The star rating tells you the opinion other users have about VeraCrypt, from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
  • Reviews by other users - Click on the Read reviews button.
  • Technical information about the program you are about to remove, by clicking on the Properties button.

7. Click the Uninstall button. A confirmation page will appear. Confirm the removal by pressing the Uninstall button. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will then remove VeraCrypt.

8. After uninstalling VeraCrypt, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will ask you to run a cleanup. Press Next to start the cleanup. All the items that belong VeraCrypt which have been left behind will be detected and you will be asked if you want to delete them.
