If you are manually uninstalling VeraCrypt we advise you to verify if the following data is left behind on your PC.

Directories that were left behind:

You will find in the Windows Registry that the following keys will not be removed; remove them one by one using regedit.exe:

How to remove VeraCrypt from your computer using Advanced Uninstaller PRO

VeraCrypt is a program by IDRIX. Sometimes, users choose to erase it. Sometimes this is troublesome because doing this by hand requires some skill related to removing Windows applications by hand. 1. If you don't have Advanced Uninstaller PRO already installed on your system, add it. This is a good step because Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very useful uninstaller and all around tool to clean your computer.

• download the program by pressing the DOWNLOAD NOW button
• install Advanced Uninstaller PRO

2. Run Advanced Uninstaller PRO. It's recommended to take your time to admire the program's design and wealth of features available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a powerful Windows optimizer.

3. Click on the General Tools category


4. Activate the Uninstall Programs button


5. A list of the applications installed on the computer will be made available to you

6. Scroll the list of applications until you find VeraCrypt or simply activate the Search field and type in "VeraCrypt". The VeraCrypt app will be found very quickly. Notice that after you select VeraCrypt in the list of apps, the following information regarding the program is available to you:

• Star rating (in the lower left corner). The star rating tells you the opinion other users have regarding VeraCrypt, from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
• Reviews by other users - Click on the Read reviews button.
• Details regarding the app you wish to remove, by pressing the Properties button.

For example you can see that for VeraCrypt:

• The publisher is: https://www.idrix.fr/
• The uninstall string is: C:\Program Files\VeraCrypt\VeraCrypt Setup.exe

7. Press the Uninstall button. A confirmation page will appear. accept the uninstall by clicking Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will automatically remove VeraCrypt.


8. After removing VeraCrypt, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will ask you to run a cleanup. Click Next to start the cleanup. All the items of VeraCrypt which have been left behind will be found and you will be asked if you want to delete them. By uninstalling VeraCrypt with Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you can be sure that no registry items, files or directories are left behind on your system.
