How to uninstall VeraCrypt from your PC

This web page is about VeraCrypt for Windows. Keep in mind that this location can vary depending on the user's choice. The full uninstall command line for VeraCrypt is C:\Program Files\VeraCrypt\VeraCrypt Setup.exe. VeraCrypt.exe is the VeraCrypt's main executable file and it takes close to 5.68 MB (5951784 bytes) on disk.

VeraCrypt is composed of the following executables which occupy 55.05 MB (57722512 bytes) on disk:

  • VeraCrypt Format.exe (5.71 MB)
  • VeraCrypt Setup.exe (38.46 MB)
  • VeraCrypt.exe (5.68 MB)
  • VeraCryptExpander.exe (5.21 MB)

A way to uninstall VeraCrypt from your computer using Advanced Uninstaller PRO

VeraCrypt is an application offered by the software company IDRIX. Sometimes, users try to uninstall this application. This is difficult because uninstalling this by hand requires some experience related to removing Windows programs manually. One of the best QUICK way to uninstall VeraCrypt is to use Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Here is how to do this:





1. If you don't have Advanced Uninstaller PRO already installed on your system, install it. This is good because Advanced Uninstaller PRO is an efficient uninstaller and all around tool to maximize the performance of your computer.

  • visit Download Link
  • download the setup by clicking on the DOWNLOAD button
  • set up Advanced Uninstaller PRO
2. Start Advanced Uninstaller PRO. It's recommended to take some time to get familiar with Advanced Uninstaller PRO's interface and number of tools available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very good system utility.

3. Click on the General Tools category

4. Press the Uninstall Programs button

5. All the applications installed on your PC will appear

6. Navigate the list of applications until you find VeraCrypt or simply click the Search feature and type in "VeraCrypt". The VeraCrypt app will be found automatically. Notice that after you select VeraCrypt in the list of programs, some information regarding the application is available to you:


  • Safety rating (in the lower left corner). The star rating explains the opinion other people have regarding VeraCrypt, ranging from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
  • Opinions by other people - Click on the Read reviews button.
  • Technical information regarding the program you want to remove, by clicking on the Properties button.

  • The uninstall string is: C:\Program Files\VeraCrypt\VeraCrypt Setup.exe
7. Click the Uninstall button. A confirmation dialog will show up. Confirm the uninstall by pressing Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will uninstall VeraCrypt.

8. After removing VeraCrypt, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will ask you to run an additional cleanup. Click Next to proceed with the cleanup. All the items that belong VeraCrypt that have been left behind will be detected and you will be asked if you want to delete them. By uninstalling VeraCrypt with Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you can be sure that no Windows registry items, files or folders are left behind on your system.

Your Windows PC will remain clean, speedy and able to take on new tasks.
