Some files and registry entries are typically left behind when you remove SnapGene.

Folders left behind when you uninstall SnapGene:

Generally, the following files remain on disk:

Usually the following registry keys will not be uninstalled:

• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\snapgene_viewer
• HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SnapGene
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\SnapGene

Open regedit.exe to delete the values below from the Windows Registry:

• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\SnapGene Viewer\DisplayIcon
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\SnapGene Viewer\DisplayName
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\SnapGene Viewer\InstallLocation
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\SnapGene Viewer\QuietUninstallString

How to uninstall SnapGene from your computer with the help of Advanced Uninstaller PRO

SnapGene is a program by GSL Biotech LLC. Sometimes, computer users choose to remove this program. 3. Press the General Tools category


4. Click on the Uninstall Programs tool


5. All the programs installed on the PC will be shown to you

6. Scroll the list of programs until you locate SnapGene or simply click the Search field and type in "SnapGene". If it exists on your system the SnapGene app will be found automatically. When you click SnapGene in the list of programs, some data regarding the application is made available to you:

• Star rating (in the left lower corner). The star rating explains the opinion other users have regarding SnapGene, from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
• Opinions by other users - Press the Read reviews button.
• Technical information regarding the app you wish to remove, by pressing the Properties button.

For instance you can see that for SnapGene:

• The software company is: http://gslbiotech.com
• The uninstall string is: C:\Program Files (x86)\SnapGene\Uninstall.exe

7. Click the Uninstall button. A confirmation page will come up. accept the removal by pressing the Uninstall button. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will then uninstall SnapGene.


8. After uninstalling SnapGene, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will ask you to run a cleanup. Click Next to proceed with the cleanup. All the items of SnapGene which have been left behind will be found and you will be able to delete them. By uninstalling SnapGene with Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you can be sure that no registry items, files or directories are left behind on your PC.
