Following the uninstall process, the application leaves some files behind on the PC. Some of these are shown below.

The files below are left behind on your disk by VMware Workstation's application uninstaller when you removed it:

Use regedit.exe to manually remove from the Windows Registry the keys below:

A way to remove VMware Workstation from your computer using Advanced Uninstaller PRO

VMware Workstation is an application offered by the software company VMware, Inc.. Frequently, people try to uninstall it. This is troublesome because performing this by hand requires some experience related to Windows program uninstallation. One of the best SIMPLE procedure to uninstall VMware Workstation is to use Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take the following steps on how to do this:





1. If you don't have Advanced Uninstaller PRO already installed on your Windows PC, add it. This is good because Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very efficient uninstaller and general tool to clean your Windows system.

  • download the setup by pressing the DOWNLOAD button
  • set up Advanced Uninstaller PRO
2. Start Advanced Uninstaller PRO. It's recommended to take some time to get familiar with Advanced Uninstaller PRO's design and number of tools available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a powerful Windows optimizer.

3. Click on the General Tools category

4. Activate the Uninstall Programs tool

5. All the programs installed on your PC will be made available to you

6. Navigate the list of programs until you find VMware Workstation or simply click the Search feature and type in "VMware Workstation". If it exists on your system the VMware Workstation app will be found automatically. Notice that after you select VMware Workstation in the list of apps, the following data regarding the program is made available to you:


  • Safety rating (in the left lower corner). This tells you the opinion other people have regarding VMware Workstation, from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
  • Reviews by other people - Click on the Read reviews button.
  • Technical information regarding the application you want to remove, by pressing the Properties button.
7. Click the Uninstall button. A confirmation page will appear. Confirm the removal by clicking the Uninstall button. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will uninstall VMware Workstation.

8. After uninstalling VMware Workstation, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will offer to run a cleanup. Click Next to start the cleanup. All the items that belong VMware Workstation which have been left behind will be found and you will be able to delete them. By removing VMware Workstation using Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you are assured that no registry entries, files or folders are left behind on your computer.
