Numerous files, folders and registry data can not be removed when you want to remove GitHub Desktop from your PC.

The files below are left behind on your disk by GitHub Desktop's application uninstaller when you removed it:

• C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\GitHub, Inc\GitHub Desktop.lnk

You will find in the Windows Registry that the following keys will not be cleaned; remove them one by one using regedit.exe:

• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\x-github-desktop-auth
• HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\GitHubDesktop

How to uninstall GitHub Desktop from your PC using Advanced Uninstaller PRO

GitHub Desktop is a program released by the software company GitHub, Inc.. Some users decide to erase this program. 2. Start Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take your time to get familiar with the program's design and number of features available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very useful PC management program.

3. Press the General Tools button


4. Click on the Uninstall Programs tool


5. All the programs existing on your computer will appear

6. Scroll the list of programs until you locate GitHub Desktop or simply click the Search feature and type in "GitHub Desktop". If it exists on your system the GitHub Desktop app will be found very quickly. When you select GitHub Desktop in the list , some information about the program is shown to you:

• Star rating (in the lower left corner). This explains the opinion other people have about GitHub Desktop, from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
• Reviews by other people - Press the Read reviews button.
• Details about the application you wish to remove, by clicking on the Properties button.

7. Click the Uninstall button. A confirmation dialog will show up. accept the removal by pressing the Uninstall button. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will remove GitHub Desktop.


8. After uninstalling GitHub Desktop, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will ask you to run a cleanup. Click Next to proceed with the cleanup. All the items that belong GitHub Desktop which have been left behind will be detected and you will be able to delete them. By uninstalling GitHub Desktop using Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you can be sure that no Windows registry items, files or directories are left behind on your system.
