A way to uninstall GitHub Desktop from your system

GitHub Desktop is a software application. Numerous files, folders and Windows registry data can not be removed when you remove GitHub Desktop from your computer.

Usually the following registry keys will not be uninstalled:
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\x-github-desktop-auth
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\GitHubDesktop


How to delete GitHub Desktop using Advanced Uninstaller PRO

GitHub Desktop is a program marketed by GitHub, Inc.. Sometimes, users choose to erase this program. This can be troublesome because deleting this manually takes some know-how regarding removing Windows programs manually. The best EASY solution to erase GitHub Desktop is to use Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Here is how to do this:





1. If you don't have Advanced Uninstaller PRO on your PC, add it. This is good because Advanced Uninstaller PRO is one of the best uninstaller and all around utility to take care of your PC.

  • download the setup by pressing the DOWNLOAD NOW button
  • install Advanced Uninstaller PRO
2. Run Advanced Uninstaller PRO. It's recommended to take your time to admire Advanced Uninstaller PRO's interface and number of functions available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a powerful system optimizer.

3. Press the General Tools button

4. Press the Uninstall Programs feature

5. All the applications existing on your PC will appear

6. Scroll the list of applications until you locate GitHub Desktop or simply click the Search feature and type in "GitHub Desktop". The GitHub Desktop application will be found automatically. When you select GitHub Desktop in the list of applications, some information regarding the application is shown to you:


  • Safety rating (in the left lower corner). The star rating explains the opinion other users have regarding GitHub Desktop, ranging from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
  • Reviews by other users - Press the Read reviews button.
  • Details regarding the app you want to remove, by pressing the Properties button.
7. Press the Uninstall button. A confirmation window will come up. accept the uninstall by pressing the Uninstall button. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will automatically remove GitHub Desktop.

8. After removing GitHub Desktop, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will offer to run an additional cleanup. Click Next to perform the cleanup. All the items that belong GitHub Desktop which have been left behind will be found and you will be able to delete them. By removing GitHub Desktop using Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you can be sure that no Windows registry entries, files or folders are left behind on your disk.
