A guide to uninstall CMake from your PC

CMake is a software application. CMake installs the following the executables on your PC, occupying about 43.52 MB (45631184 bytes) on disk.

  • cmake-gui.exe (18.80 MB)
  • cmake.exe (7.86 MB)
  • cmcldeps.exe (1.03 MB)
  • cpack.exe (7.58 MB)
  • ctest.exe (8.25 MB)

How to delete CMake with the help of Advanced Uninstaller PRO

CMake is a program marketed by Kitware. Sometimes, computer users choose to remove this program. This can be easier said than done because performing this by hand requires some skill regarding removing Windows programs manually. The best QUICK approach to remove CMake is to use Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Here is how to do this:





1. If you don't have Advanced Uninstaller PRO on your Windows PC, install it. This is a good step because Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very efficient uninstaller and all around tool to clean your Windows system.

  • download the program by pressing the DOWNLOAD button
  • set up Advanced Uninstaller PRO
2. Run Advanced Uninstaller PRO. It's recommended to take some time to get familiar with Advanced Uninstaller PRO's interface and number of tools available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a powerful package of utilities.

3. Click on the General Tools category

4. Activate the Uninstall Programs button

5. All the applications installed on your computer will be shown to you

6. Scroll the list of applications until you find CMake or simply click the Search field and type in "CMake". If it exists on your system the CMake application will be found automatically. Notice that when you click CMake in the list of applications, the following data regarding the application is shown to you:


  • Safety rating (in the lower left corner). The star rating tells you the opinion other users have regarding CMake, from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
  • Opinions by other users - Click on the Read reviews button.
  • Technical information regarding the program you wish to remove, by pressing the Properties button.

  • The uninstall string is: MsiExec.exe /X{A64BAF8B-85F5-4903-8D40-6B906F956AFB}
7. Click the Uninstall button. A window asking you to confirm will appear. Confirm the removal by clicking Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will automatically uninstall CMake.

8. After uninstalling CMake, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will offer to run an additional cleanup. Click Next to proceed with the cleanup. All the items of CMake which have been left behind will be found and you will be asked if you want to delete them. By removing CMake with Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you can be sure that no Windows registry items, files or directories are left behind on your computer.
