A way to uninstall GNS3 from your computer

GNS3 is a computer program. After the uninstall process, the application leaves some files behind on the PC. Part_A few of these are shown below.

Directories found on disk:

• C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Roaming\GNS3

The files below are left behind on your disk when you remove GNS3:

• C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Roaming\GNS3\gns3_controller.conf
• C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Roaming\GNS3\gns3_gui.ini
• C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Roaming\GNS3\gns3_gui.log
• C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Roaming\GNS3\gns3_gui.pid
• C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Roaming\GNS3\gns3_server.ini
• C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Roaming\GNS3\gns3_server.log

Use regedit.exe to manually remove from the Windows Registry the keys below:

• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.gns3
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\GNS3

Registry values that are not removed from your computer:

• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\MuiCache\C:\Program Files\GNS3\gns3.exe
• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\MuiCache\C:\Program Files\GNS3\putty.exe
• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\MuiCache\C:\Users\UserName\Desktop\GNS3-2.1.12-all-in-one.exe

How to remove GNS3 from your computer with Advanced Uninstaller PRO

GNS3 is a program marketed by the software company GNS3 Technology Inc.. Some users choose to erase this application. 2. Start Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take some time to admire the program's interface and number of functions available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a powerful PC management program.

3. Click on the General Tools category


4. Click on the Uninstall Programs button


5. All the programs existing on your computer will be shown to you

6. Navigate the list of programs until you find GNS3 or simply click the Search field and type in "GNS3". The GNS3 app will be found automatically. Notice that after you click GNS3 in the list , the following information regarding the application is shown to you:

• Star rating (in the left lower corner). The star rating tells you the opinion other people have regarding GNS3, from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
• Opinions by other people - Click on the Read reviews button.
• Details regarding the app you want to remove, by clicking on the Properties button.

For example you can see that for GNS3:

• The web site of the application is: http://www.gns3.com
• The uninstall string is: C:\Program Files\GNS3\Uninstall.exe

7. Press the Uninstall button. A confirmation dialog will appear. Confirm the removal by clicking Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will then uninstall GNS3.


8. After removing GNS3, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will ask you to run a cleanup. Click Next to start the cleanup. All the items of GNS3 that have been left behind will be found and you will be able to delete them. By removing GNS3 using Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you are assured that no registry items, files or directories are left behind on your system.
