Quite a few files, folders and registry data can not be deleted when you want to remove VMware Player from your computer.

Folders remaining:
  • C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Local\VMware\vmware-download-04DC\cdstmp_player-windows_17.5.0_22583795

The files below remain on your disk by VMware Player's application uninstaller when you removed it:
  • C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Local\VMware\player.log
  • C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Local\VMware\vmware-download-04DC\cdstmp_player-windows_17.5.0_22583795\VMware-player-17.5.0-22583795.exe

Use regedit.exe to manually remove from the Windows Registry the keys below:
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\VMware Player
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{70F0241C-E060-44DB-BBF9-719836BA8AE9}
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\VMware, Inc.\VMware Player
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\VMware, Inc.\VMware Player

Open regedit.exe in order to delete the following values:
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\Folders\C:\Windows\Installer\{70F0241C-E060-44DB-BBF9-719836BA8AE9}\


How to uninstall VMware Player from your PC using Advanced Uninstaller PRO

VMware Player is an application offered by VMware, Inc.. Frequently, people decide to erase it. This is hard because removing this manually requires some knowledge related to PCs. One of the best SIMPLE way to erase VMware Player is to use Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Here are some detailed instructions about how to do this:





1. If you don't have Advanced Uninstaller PRO on your PC, install it. This is good because Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very potent uninstaller and general tool to optimize your system.

  • download the program by clicking on the DOWNLOAD NOW button
  • install Advanced Uninstaller PRO
2. Start Advanced Uninstaller PRO. It's recommended to take some time to get familiar with the program's design and wealth of functions available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a powerful system utility.

3. Press the General Tools category

6. Navigate the list of programs until you locate VMware Player or simply click the Search field and type in "VMware Player". If it is installed on your PC the VMware Player app will be found very quickly. Notice that after you click VMware Player in the list of apps, the following data regarding the application is made available to you:


  • Star rating (in the left lower corner). The star rating tells you the opinion other users have regarding VMware Player, ranging from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
  • Opinions by other users - Press the Read reviews button.
  • Details regarding the program you wish to remove, by clicking on the Properties button.
7. Click the Uninstall button. A window asking you to confirm will show up. Confirm the uninstall by clicking Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will remove VMware Player.

8. After removing VMware Player, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will ask you to run a cleanup. Click Next to perform the cleanup. All the items of VMware Player that have been left behind will be detected and you will be asked if you want to delete them.
