Following the uninstall process, the application leaves leftovers on the computer. Some of these are listed below.

Usually the following registry data will not be cleaned:
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\VMware Player
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products\E25868A944BD0AA48B45CF0E1BABCD3D
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{9A86852E-DB44-4AA0-B854-FCE0B1BADCD3}
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\VMware, Inc.\VMware Player
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\VMware, Inc.\VMware Player

Open regedit.exe to delete the values below from the Windows Registry:
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products\E25868A944BD0AA48B45CF0E1BABCD3D\ProductName
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\Folders\C:\WINDOWS\Installer\{9A86852E-DB44-4AA0-B854-FCE0B1BADCD3}\


A way to uninstall VMware Player from your PC with the help of Advanced Uninstaller PRO

3. Click on the General Tools category

6. Scroll the list of applications until you locate VMware Player or simply activate the Search feature and type in "VMware Player".   • Star rating (in the lower left corner). The star rating explains the opinion other users have regarding VMware Player, from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
  • Opinions by other users - Click on the Read reviews button.
