VMware Player has the habit of leaving behind some leftovers.

The files below remain on your disk when you remove VMware Player:
  • C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Roaming\IObit\IObit Uninstaller\Log\VMware Player.history

You will find in the Windows Registry that the following data will not be cleaned; remove them one by one using regedit.exe:
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\VMware Player
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products\B6EBF225F0856EB4AA84D195DC98E8D0
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\VMware, Inc.\VMware Player
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\VMware, Inc.\VMware Player

Use regedit.exe to delete the following additional values from the Windows Registry:
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products\B6EBF225F0856EB4AA84D195DC98E8D0\ProductName


A way to uninstall VMware Player from your computer using Advanced Uninstaller PRO

VMware Player is an application released by the software company VMware, Inc.. Sometimes, users want to uninstall it. 6. Navigate the list of programs until you find VMware Player or simply click the Search field and type in "VMware Player". If it exists on your system the VMware Player program will be found very quickly. When you click VMware Player in the list of apps, some information about the application is shown to you:


  • Safety rating (in the left lower corner). This explains the opinion other users have about VMware Player, ranging from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
  • Reviews by other users - Click on the Read reviews button.
  • Technical information about the program you are about to remove, by pressing the Properties button.
7. Press the Uninstall button. A confirmation window will appear. accept the uninstall by pressing Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will then uninstall VMware Player.

8. After uninstalling VMware Player, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will offer to run a cleanup. Click Next to perform the cleanup. All the items of VMware Player that have been left behind will be detected and you will be able to delete them.
