A guide to uninstall SourceTree from your system

SourceTree is a computer program. This page contains details on how to uninstall it from your PC. It is written by Atlassian. Go over here for more information on Atlassian. SourceTree is typically set up in the C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\SourceTree folder, but this location may vary a lot depending on the user's option when installing the application. SourceTree's full uninstall command line is C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\SourceTree\Update.exe. SourceTree.exe is the SourceTree's primary executable file and it takes circa 239.32 KB (245064 bytes) on disk.

After the uninstall process, the application leaves leftovers on the computer. Part_A few of these are shown below.

Check for and delete the following files from your disk when you uninstall SourceTree:

  • C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Atlassian\Sourcetree.lnk

Registry that is not uninstalled:
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\BugSplat\SourceTree_v1
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\SourceTree

Open regedit.exe to delete the registry values below from the Windows Registry:

A way to delete SourceTree using Advanced Uninstaller PRO

SourceTree is a program marketed by Atlassian. Some people choose to erase it. This is efortful because doing this manually requires some knowledge related to removing Windows programs manually. The best EASY manner to erase SourceTree is to use Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take the following steps on how to do this:





1. If you don't have Advanced Uninstaller PRO on your Windows PC, add it. This is good because Advanced Uninstaller PRO is the best uninstaller and general utility to clean your Windows computer.

  • navigate to Download Link
  • download the setup by clicking on the green DOWNLOAD NOW button
  • install Advanced Uninstaller PRO
2. Run Advanced Uninstaller PRO. It's recommended to take your time to get familiar with the program's design and wealth of functions available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a powerful system utility.

3. Press the General Tools category

4. Click on the Uninstall Programs feature

5. All the programs existing on your computer will be made available to you

6. Navigate the list of programs until you find SourceTree or simply click the Search field and type in "SourceTree". If it exists on your system the SourceTree app will be found automatically. Notice that when you click SourceTree in the list of applications, some data about the application is made available to you:


  • Safety rating (in the lower left corner). The star rating tells you the opinion other users have about SourceTree, ranging from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
  • Opinions by other users - Press the Read reviews button.
  • Details about the app you wish to remove, by clicking on the Properties button.
7. Click the Uninstall button. A confirmation dialog will appear. Confirm the uninstall by clicking Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will then uninstall SourceTree.

8. After uninstalling SourceTree, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will ask you to run an additional cleanup. Press Next to perform the cleanup. All the items that belong SourceTree that have been left behind will be detected and you will be asked if you want to delete them. By removing SourceTree using Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you are assured that no Windows registry items, files or directories are left behind on your disk.

Your Windows system will remain clean, speedy and ready to take on new tasks.
