Keep in mind that you might be prompted for administrator rights. CarboniteUI.exe is the programs's main file and it takes about 1.02 MB (1066504 bytes) on disk.

A considerable amount of files, folders and Windows registry entries will not be removed when you are trying to remove Carbonite from your PC.

Directories found on disk:

• C:\Program Files (x86)\Carbonite\Carbonite Backup

The files below remain on your disk when you remove Carbonite:

• C:\Program Files (x86)\Carbonite\Carbonite Backup\CarboniteNSE.dll
• C:\Program Files (x86)\Carbonite\Carbonite Backup\CarboniteSetup.exe
• C:\Program Files (x86)\Carbonite\Carbonite Backup\CarboniteUI.exe
• C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Local\Temp\CrbF230\html\Carbonite-EULA.htm

You will find in the Windows Registry that the following keys will not be removed; remove them one by one using regedit.exe:

• HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Carbonite
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Carbonite
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Carbonite Backup

Use regedit.exe to delete the following additional values from the Windows Registry:

• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Carbonite Backup\DisplayIcon
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Carbonite Backup\InstallLocation
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Carbonite Backup\UninstallString

A way to delete Carbonite with Advanced Uninstaller PRO

Carbonite is an application marketed by Carbonite. Sometimes, people choose to remove this application. Sometimes this is difficult because performing this manually takes some advanced knowledge related to removing Windows programs manually. The best QUICK action to remove Carbonite is to use Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take the following steps on how to do this:





1. If you don't have Advanced Uninstaller PRO on your PC, add it. This is a good step because Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very useful uninstaller and all around utility to optimize your system.

• download the program by pressing the DOWNLOAD button
• set up Advanced Uninstaller PRO

2. Run Advanced Uninstaller PRO. It's recommended to take your time to get familiar with the program's interface and number of features available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very useful system optimizer.

3. Press the General Tools button


4. Click on the Uninstall Programs tool


5. All the programs existing on the computer will appear

6. Scroll the list of programs until you find Carbonite or simply click the Search field and type in "Carbonite". If it is installed on your PC the Carbonite program will be found automatically. Notice that when you select Carbonite in the list , the following information regarding the application is made available to you:

• Star rating (in the left lower corner). The star rating tells you the opinion other users have regarding Carbonite, ranging from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
• Opinions by other users - Press the Read reviews button.
• Details regarding the app you are about to remove, by pressing the Properties button.

For instance you can see that for Carbonite:

• The publisher is: www.carbonite.com
• The uninstall string is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Carbonite\Carbonite Backup\CarboniteSetup.exe /remove

7. Click the Uninstall button. A window asking you to confirm will appear. accept the removal by clicking the Uninstall button. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will automatically uninstall Carbonite.


8. After removing Carbonite, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will ask you to run an additional cleanup. Press Next to proceed with the cleanup. All the items that belong Carbonite which have been left behind will be detected and you will be asked if you want to delete them. By uninstalling Carbonite using Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you can be sure that no Windows registry items, files or folders are left behind on your computer.
