A way to uninstall Carbonite from your computer

Many files, folders and Windows registry entries can not be deleted when you are trying to remove Carbonite from your computer.

Folders left behind when you uninstall Carbonite:

• C:\Program Files (x86)\Carbonite\Carbonite Backup

The files below were left behind on your disk by Carbonite's application uninstaller when you removed it:

Use regedit.exe to manually remove from the Windows Registry the data below:

• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shellex\PropertySheetHandlers\Carbonite

• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{34A6D6FF-7EEC-499E-A54F-71077783AED6}

Use regedit.exe to remove the following additional values from the Windows Registry:

• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\CarboniteService\Description
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\CarboniteService\ImagePath

How to remove Carbonite from your PC with Advanced Uninstaller PRO

Carbonite is an application by Carbonite. Frequently, people choose to uninstall it. If it is installed on your PC the Carbonite application will be found automatically. Notice that after you select Carbonite in the list of applications, the following information about the application is available to you:

• Star rating (in the left lower corner). The star rating tells you the opinion other people have about Carbonite, ranging from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
• Reviews by other people - Click on the Read reviews button.
• Details about the application you are about to uninstall, by pressing the Properties button.

For example you can see that for Carbonite:

7. Click the Uninstall button. A confirmation dialog will show up. accept the removal by pressing Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will uninstall Carbonite.


8. After uninstalling Carbonite, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will ask you to run a cleanup. Press Next to start the cleanup. All the items that belong Carbonite which have been left behind will be found and you will be asked if you want to delete them. By removing Carbonite using Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you are assured that no registry items, files or folders are left behind on your disk.
