If you're planning to uninstall VMware Tools you should check if the following data is left behind on your PC.

You will find in the Windows Registry that the following keys will not be uninstalled; remove them one by one using regedit.exe:
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products\CFB5F705EFD6FC345A25ADEB68F8DCEF
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{507F5BFC-6DFE-43CF-A552-DABE868FCDFE}

Open regedit.exe in order to remove the following values:
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products\CFB5F705EFD6FC345A25ADEB68F8DCEF\ProductName
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\Folders\C:\Windows\Installer\{507F5BFC-6DFE-43CF-A552-DABE868FCDFE}\


A way to uninstall VMware Tools from your PC with Advanced Uninstaller PRO

3. Press the General Tools category

6. Scroll the list of applications until you find VMware Tools or simply click the Search feature and type in "VMware Tools". If it is installed on your PC the VMware Tools app will be found automatically. After you select VMware Tools in the list of applications, the following information about the application is available to you:


  • Safety rating (in the left lower corner). The star rating explains the opinion other users have about VMware Tools, ranging from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
  • Opinions by other users - Press the Read reviews button.
  • Details about the program you wish to uninstall, by clicking on the Properties button.
7. Press the Uninstall button. A confirmation page will appear. Confirm the removal by clicking Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will then remove VMware Tools.
