How to uninstall Unity from your computer

Unity is a Windows program. Unity has the habit of leaving behind some leftovers.

The files below are left behind on your disk by Unity when you uninstall it:

• C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root\Office16\ADDINS\Microsoft Power Query for Excel Integrated\bin\Microsoft.Practices.Unity.dll

Many times the following registry data will not be uninstalled:

• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.unity
• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\com.unity3d.kharma
• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Unity package file
• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Unity scene file
• HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Unity
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Unity

Registry values that are not removed from your computer:

• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\MuiCache\C:\Program Files\Unity\Editor\Unity.exe.ApplicationCompany
• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\MuiCache\C:\Program Files\Unity\Editor\Unity.exe.FriendlyAppName

A way to erase Unity from your computer using Advanced Uninstaller PRO

Unity is a program offered by Unity Technologies ApS. Some users choose to uninstall this program. Sometimes this can be difficult because performing this manually requires some experience related to Windows program uninstallation. One of the best QUICK manner to uninstall Unity is to use Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Here is how to do this:





1. If you don't have Advanced Uninstaller PRO already installed on your Windows system, install it. This is a good step because Advanced Uninstaller PRO is an efficient uninstaller and general tool to clean your Windows system.

• download the setup by clicking on the DOWNLOAD button
• install Advanced Uninstaller PRO

2. Start Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take your time to admire the program's interface and number of features available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a powerful package of tools.

3. Click on the General Tools button


4. Press the Uninstall Programs tool


5. A list of the applications existing on your computer will be made available to you

6. Navigate the list of applications until you locate Unity or simply activate the Search field and type in "Unity". If it exists on your system the Unity program will be found very quickly. After you select Unity in the list of apps, some data regarding the program is shown to you:

• Star rating (in the left lower corner). This tells you the opinion other users have regarding Unity, from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
• Reviews by other users - Click on the Read reviews button.
• Technical information regarding the program you want to remove, by clicking on the Properties button.

For instance you can see that for Unity:

• The web site of the program is: http://www.unity3d.com
• The uninstall string is: C:\Program Files\Unity\Editor\Uninstall.exe

7. Click the Uninstall button. A window asking you to confirm will show up. accept the uninstall by pressing the Uninstall button. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will then uninstall Unity.


8. After removing Unity, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will offer to run an additional cleanup. Press Next to go ahead with the cleanup. All the items of Unity that have been left behind will be found and you will be able to delete them. By removing Unity with Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you are assured that no Windows registry entries, files or directories are left behind on your computer.

Your Windows PC will remain clean, speedy and able to run without errors or problems.
