How to uninstall OBS Studio from your computer

This web page contains detailed information on how to remove OBS Studio for Windows. It is produced by OBS Project. Further information on OBS Project can be seen here. Usually the OBS Studio application is installed in the C:\Program Files\obs-studio folder, depending on the user's option during setup. The full uninstall command line for OBS Studio is C:\Program Files\obs-studio\uninstall.exe. OBS Studio's primary file takes around 4.89 MB (5131824 bytes) and its name is obs64.exe.

You will find in the Windows Registry that the following keys will not be removed; remove them one by one using regedit.exe:

• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\OBS Studio
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OBS Studio

Use regedit.exe to delete the following additional values from the Windows Registry:

• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\MuiCache\C:\Program Files\obs-studio\bin\64bit\obs64.exe.ApplicationCompany
• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\MuiCache\C:\Program Files\obs-studio\bin\64bit\obs64.exe.FriendlyAppName

A way to remove OBS Studio with Advanced Uninstaller PRO

OBS Studio is a program released by OBS Project. Sometimes, computer users want to remove this program. Sometimes this is troublesome because removing this by hand takes some advanced knowledge related to removing Windows applications by hand. The best QUICK procedure to remove OBS Studio is to use Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take the following steps on how to do this:





1. If you don't have Advanced Uninstaller PRO already installed on your PC, install it. This is a good step because Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very efficient uninstaller and general tool to take care of your PC.

• navigate to Download Link
• download the setup by pressing the green DOWNLOAD button
• install Advanced Uninstaller PRO

2. Start Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take some time to get familiar with the program's interface and number of features available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a powerful program.

3. Click on the General Tools category


4. Activate the Uninstall Programs button


5. All the programs existing on the PC will appear

6. Navigate the list of programs until you find OBS Studio or simply click the Search feature and type in "OBS Studio". If it exists on your system the OBS Studio app will be found automatically. Notice that after you select OBS Studio in the list of apps, some data about the application is available to you:

• Star rating (in the lower left corner). This explains the opinion other people have about OBS Studio, from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
• Opinions by other people - Click on the Read reviews button.
• Details about the application you wish to remove, by pressing the Properties button.

7. Click the Uninstall button. A confirmation dialog will show up. Confirm the uninstall by pressing Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will automatically uninstall OBS Studio.


8. After uninstalling OBS Studio, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will offer to run an additional cleanup. Click Next to start the cleanup. All the items of OBS Studio which have been left behind will be detected and you will be able to delete them. By removing OBS Studio using Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you are assured that no Windows registry entries, files or directories are left behind on your computer.
