A guide to uninstall BOINC from your computer

How to uninstall BOINC from your computer using Advanced Uninstaller PRO

BOINC is an application marketed by Space Sciences Laboratory, U.C. Berkeley. Sometimes, users decide to remove this program. This can be hard because removing this by hand requires some knowledge related to Windows internal functioning. The best EASY action to remove BOINC is to use Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take the following steps on how to do this:





1. If you don't have Advanced Uninstaller PRO already installed on your system, add it. This is good because Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very potent uninstaller and general tool to take care of your system.

• navigate to Download Link
• download the setup by pressing the green DOWNLOAD NOW button
• set up Advanced Uninstaller PRO

2. Run Advanced Uninstaller PRO. It's recommended to take your time to get familiar with Advanced Uninstaller PRO's design and number of tools available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a powerful package of utilities.

3. Press the General Tools button


4. Press the Uninstall Programs tool


5. A list of the applications installed on the PC will be made available to you

6. Navigate the list of applications until you find BOINC or simply activate the Search feature and type in "BOINC". The BOINC app will be found very quickly. When you click BOINC in the list of applications, some information regarding the application is made available to you:

• Safety rating (in the lower left corner). This tells you the opinion other people have regarding BOINC, from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
• Opinions by other people - Press the Read reviews button.
• Details regarding the application you wish to uninstall, by pressing the Properties button.

For instance you can see that for BOINC:

• The software company is: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/
• The uninstall string is: MsiExec.exe /X{27591035-C3AC-448F-A018-C839181F77C1}

7. Click the Uninstall button. A confirmation dialog will appear. Confirm the removal by pressing the Uninstall button. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will automatically uninstall BOINC.


8. After uninstalling BOINC, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will offer to run an additional cleanup. Click Next to go ahead with the cleanup. All the items that belong BOINC which have been left behind will be detected and you will be able to delete them. By removing BOINC using Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you can be sure that no Windows registry items, files or folders are left behind on your computer.
