How to uninstall BOINC from your system

BOINC is a Windows program. Read below about how to remove it from your computer. The Windows release was created by Space Sciences Laboratory, U.C. Berkeley. More info about the software BOINC can be found at http://boinc.berkeley.edu/. BOINC is typically set up in the C:\Program Files\BOINC folder, regulated by the user's decision. You can uninstall BOINC by clicking on the Start menu of Windows and pasting the command line MsiExec.exe /X{128880FF-2049-4B5E-A14D-63C49823621F}. Note that you might receive a notification for admin rights. BOINC's main file takes around 4.31 MB (4519088 bytes) and is named boincmgr.exe.

BOINC installs the following the executables on your PC, taking about 5.59 MB (5860880 bytes) on disk.

How to erase BOINC from your computer with the help of Advanced Uninstaller PRO

BOINC is a program released by Space Sciences Laboratory, U.C. Berkeley. Frequently, computer users want to uninstall it. Sometimes this is difficult because uninstalling this manually requires some skill related to PCs. The best EASY way to uninstall BOINC is to use Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take the following steps on how to do this:





1. If you don't have Advanced Uninstaller PRO already installed on your Windows PC, add it. This is a good step because Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very useful uninstaller and general tool to take care of your Windows computer.

• download the setup by clicking on the DOWNLOAD NOW button
• set up Advanced Uninstaller PRO

2. Start Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take your time to admire Advanced Uninstaller PRO's design and wealth of features available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very good PC management program.

3. Press the General Tools category


4. Activate the Uninstall Programs button


5. All the applications installed on your PC will appear

6. Navigate the list of applications until you find BOINC or simply click the Search feature and type in "BOINC". If it is installed on your PC the BOINC app will be found automatically. After you click BOINC in the list of applications, some data about the program is shown to you:

• Star rating (in the lower left corner). The star rating explains the opinion other people have about BOINC, from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
• Opinions by other people - Press the Read reviews button.
• Technical information about the program you are about to uninstall, by clicking on the Properties button.

For instance you can see that for BOINC:

• The uninstall string is: MsiExec.exe /X{128880FF-2049-4B5E-A14D-63C49823621F}

7. Press the Uninstall button. A confirmation dialog will show up. accept the removal by pressing Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will automatically remove BOINC.


8. After uninstalling BOINC, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will ask you to run an additional cleanup. Click Next to perform the cleanup. All the items of BOINC that have been left behind will be found and you will be asked if you want to delete them. By removing BOINC using Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you are assured that no registry entries, files or directories are left behind on your disk.

Your system will remain clean, speedy and able to run without errors or problems.
