How to uninstall BOINC from your PC

Keep in mind that you might receive a notification for administrator rights. BOINC's primary file takes around 1.88 MB (1966080 bytes) and its name is boincmgr.exe.

A way to erase BOINC from your PC using Advanced Uninstaller PRO

BOINC is an application released by Space Sciences Laboratory, U.C. Berkeley. Frequently, computer users decide to erase it. Sometimes this can be difficult because deleting this manually takes some knowledge regarding PCs. The best EASY procedure to erase BOINC is to use Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Here is how to do this:





1. If you don't have Advanced Uninstaller PRO already installed on your Windows system, install it. This is a good step because Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very efficient uninstaller and all around tool to optimize your Windows system.

  • download the program by clicking on the green DOWNLOAD button
  • install Advanced Uninstaller PRO
2. Start Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take some time to admire Advanced Uninstaller PRO's design and wealth of tools available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very good system utility.

3. Click on the General Tools button

4. Click on the Uninstall Programs feature

5. A list of the programs installed on your computer will be made available to you

6. Scroll the list of programs until you find BOINC or simply click the Search feature and type in "BOINC". If it is installed on your PC the BOINC program will be found very quickly. Notice that when you select BOINC in the list of applications, some data regarding the program is made available to you:


  • Star rating (in the left lower corner). The star rating tells you the opinion other people have regarding BOINC, ranging from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
  • Opinions by other people - Click on the Read reviews button.
  • Details regarding the program you wish to remove, by clicking on the Properties button.

7. Press the Uninstall button. A confirmation page will come up. Confirm the uninstall by pressing Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will then uninstall BOINC.

8. After removing BOINC, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will ask you to run an additional cleanup. Click Next to proceed with the cleanup. All the items of BOINC that have been left behind will be found and you will be able to delete them. By removing BOINC using Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you are assured that no registry items, files or directories are left behind on your disk.

Your computer will remain clean, speedy and ready to run without errors or problems.
