Quite a few files, folders and Windows registry entries can be left behind when you want to remove Skype from your PC.

Folders that were found:

• C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Skype for Desktop

Generally, the following files are left on disk:

• C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Skype for Desktop\settings.json

Registry that is not uninstalled:

• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Skype_is1

Open regedit.exe in order to remove the following values:

• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\MuiCache\C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Skype for Desktop\Skype.exe.ApplicationCompany
• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\MuiCache\C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Skype for Desktop\Skype.exe.FriendlyAppName

A way to uninstall Skype from your PC with Advanced Uninstaller PRO

3. Press the General Tools button

• Reviews by other people - Press the Read reviews button.
• Technical information regarding the program you wish to uninstall, by clicking on the Properties button.

7. Click the Uninstall button. A confirmation page will appear. accept the uninstall by clicking Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will uninstall Skype.


8. After uninstalling Skype, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will ask you to run an additional cleanup. Click Next to start the cleanup. All the items that belong Skype which have been left behind will be found and you will be able to delete them.
