How to uninstall Skype from your computer

Skype is a Windows application. Read more about how to uninstall it from your PC. It was created for Windows by Skype Technologies S.A.. Check out here for more details on Skype Technologies S.A.. The application is usually installed in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Skype for Desktop folder. Keep in mind that this path can differ depending on the user's preference. The complete uninstall command line for Skype is C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Skype for Desktop\Uninstall.exe. The application's main executable file occupies 51.06 MB (53540200 bytes) on disk and is called Skype.exe.

Use regedit.exe to manually remove from the Windows Registry the data below:
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Skype_is1

Open regedit.exe in order to remove the following registry values:

A way to uninstall Skype from your computer with Advanced Uninstaller PRO

Skype is a program by the software company Skype Technologies S.A.. Frequently, computer users try to remove it. 3. Press the General Tools category

6. Navigate the list of programs until you locate Skype or simply click the Search field and type in "Skype". If it exists on your system the Skype program will be found very quickly. Notice that after you select Skype in the list of applications, some data about the program is available to you:


  • Star rating (in the lower left corner). This tells you the opinion other people have about Skype, from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
  • Reviews by other people - Press the Read reviews button.
  • Details about the app you wish to uninstall, by clicking on the Properties button.
7. Press the Uninstall button. A confirmation dialog will appear. Confirm the removal by pressing Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will then uninstall Skype.
