A guide to uninstall Skype from your computer

Skype is a Windows application. Read more about how to remove it from your computer. The Windows version was developed by Skype Technologies S.A.. Check out here for more info on Skype Technologies S.A.. Skype is typically installed in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Skype folder, regulated by the user's decision. The full command line for removing Skype is C:\Program Files (x86)\Skype\Uninstall.exe. Note that if you will type this command in Start / Run Note you may be prompted for admin rights. Skype.exe is the programs's main file and it takes circa 87.34 MB (91585088 bytes) on disk.

Skype is comprised of the following executables which take 87.69 MB (91948186 bytes) on disk:

If you are manually uninstalling Skype we advise you to verify if the following data is left behind on your PC.

Directories that were found:

Check for and remove the following files from your disk when you uninstall Skype:

A way to erase Skype with Advanced Uninstaller PRO

Skype is an application offered by Skype Technologies S.A.. Frequently, people try to remove it. 3. Press the General Tools button

5. A list of the programs installed on the PC will be made available to you

6. Navigate the list of programs until you find Skype or simply activate the Search field and type in "Skype". The Skype application will be found very quickly. Notice that when you select Skype in the list of applications, some information about the program is available to you:


  • Safety rating (in the left lower corner). The star rating explains the opinion other people have about Skype, from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
  • Reviews by other people - Press the Read reviews button.
  • Details about the application you wish to remove, by clicking on the Properties button.
7. Click the Uninstall button. A window asking you to confirm will show up. accept the removal by clicking Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will remove Skype.

8. After removing Skype, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will ask you to run a cleanup. Click Next to proceed with the cleanup. All the items of Skype that have been left behind will be found and you will be asked if you want to delete them. By uninstalling Skype using Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you can be sure that no registry items, files or folders are left behind on your computer.
