A way to uninstall AVG from your computer

When you're planning to uninstall AVG you should check if the following data is left behind on your PC.

You will find in the Windows Registry that the following keys will not be removed; remove them one by one using regedit.exe:

6. Scroll the list of applications until you locate AVG or simply click the Search field and type in "AVG". If it is installed on your PC the AVG program will be found automatically. Notice that when you click AVG in the list of programs, some data regarding the program is shown to you:


  • Star rating (in the left lower corner). The star rating explains the opinion other people have regarding AVG, ranging from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
  • Opinions by other people - Press the Read reviews button.
  • Technical information regarding the application you want to remove, by clicking on the Properties button.
7. Click the Uninstall button. A confirmation window will come up. Confirm the removal by pressing the Uninstall button. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will remove AVG.

8. After uninstalling AVG, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will ask you to run an additional cleanup. Click Next to proceed with the cleanup. All the items of AVG that have been left behind will be detected and you will be able to delete them.
