How to uninstall AVG from your computer

AVG is a Windows application. Read below about how to remove it from your PC. The Windows version was developed by AVG Technologies. More information about AVG Technologies can be found here. Usually the AVG program is installed in the C:\Program Files (x86)\AVG\Setup directory, depending on the user's option during setup. The full command line for removing AVG is C:\Program Files (x86)\AVG\Setup\avgsetupx.exe /mode=offline /uninstall=zen. Keep in mind that if you will type this command in Start / Run Note you may be prompted for admin rights. The application's main executable file is labeled avgntdumpx.exe and it has a size of 688.50 KB (705024 bytes).

The executable files below are part of AVG. They occupy an average of 6.54 MB (6855224 bytes) on disk.

AVG has the habit of leaving behind some leftovers.

You will find in the Windows Registry that the following data will not be uninstalled; remove them one by one using regedit.exe:
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\AvgZen


How to uninstall AVG from your PC using Advanced Uninstaller PRO

AVG is a program released by the software company AVG Technologies. Sometimes, users try to remove it. This can be efortful because performing this by hand takes some skill regarding removing Windows applications by hand. One of the best QUICK way to remove AVG is to use Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Here are some detailed instructions about how to do this:





1. If you don't have Advanced Uninstaller PRO on your system, add it. This is good because Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very useful uninstaller and all around tool to maximize the performance of your system.

  • download the setup by pressing the green DOWNLOAD NOW button
  • set up Advanced Uninstaller PRO
2. Run Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take your time to admire the program's interface and wealth of features available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very good system optimizer.

3. Press the General Tools category

4. Click on the Uninstall Programs tool

5. A list of the programs existing on the PC will be made available to you

6. Navigate the list of programs until you locate AVG or simply activate the Search feature and type in "AVG". If it exists on your system the AVG application will be found very quickly. When you select AVG in the list of programs, some data regarding the application is shown to you:


  • Safety rating (in the left lower corner). This tells you the opinion other people have regarding AVG, ranging from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
  • Opinions by other people - Press the Read reviews button.
  • Details regarding the application you wish to uninstall, by pressing the Properties button.
7. Click the Uninstall button. A window asking you to confirm will appear. Confirm the uninstall by pressing Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will then remove AVG.

8. After removing AVG, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will offer to run a cleanup. Click Next to go ahead with the cleanup. All the items that belong AVG which have been left behind will be found and you will be asked if you want to delete them. By uninstalling AVG using Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you are assured that no registry entries, files or folders are left behind on your PC.

Your system will remain clean, speedy and able to serve you properly.
