How to uninstall Zotero from your system

After the uninstall process, the application leaves leftovers on the PC. Part_A few of these are shown below.

The files below are left behind on your disk when you remove Zotero:

You will find in the Windows Registry that the following data will not be cleaned; remove them one by one using regedit.exe:

• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\zotero
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Zotero 5.0.85 (x86 en-US)
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Zotero

How to remove Zotero from your PC using Advanced Uninstaller PRO

Zotero is a program offered by Corporation for Digital Scholarship. Sometimes, computer users try to erase this program. This is difficult because performing this manually takes some advanced knowledge regarding removing Windows applications by hand. 1. If you don't have Advanced Uninstaller PRO already installed on your system, install it. This is good because Advanced Uninstaller PRO is the best uninstaller and general tool to take care of your PC.

• download the program by clicking on the green DOWNLOAD NOW button
• install Advanced Uninstaller PRO

2. Start Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take your time to admire the program's design and wealth of tools available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a powerful Windows optimizer.

3. Click on the General Tools button


4. Press the Uninstall Programs button


5. A list of the applications installed on your PC will be made available to you

6. Navigate the list of applications until you locate Zotero or simply activate the Search feature and type in "Zotero". If it is installed on your PC the Zotero program will be found automatically. Notice that when you click Zotero in the list of apps, some data regarding the program is available to you:

• Safety rating (in the left lower corner). The star rating tells you the opinion other users have regarding Zotero, ranging from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
• Reviews by other users - Click on the Read reviews button.
• Technical information regarding the app you are about to uninstall, by clicking on the Properties button.

For example you can see that for Zotero:

• The publisher is: https://www.zotero.org
• The uninstall string is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Zotero\uninstall\helper.exe

7. Click the Uninstall button. A window asking you to confirm will appear. accept the removal by clicking Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will remove Zotero.


8. After removing Zotero, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will ask you to run an additional cleanup. Click Next to go ahead with the cleanup. All the items of Zotero that have been left behind will be found and you will be asked if you want to delete them. By removing Zotero with Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you can be sure that no registry entries, files or folders are left behind on your system.
