How to uninstall Chromium from your PC

Chromium is a Windows application. Read more about how to uninstall it from your computer. The Windows release was developed by The Chromium Authors. Check out here for more information on The Chromium Authors. Chromium is commonly installed in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Chromium\Resources\Uninstall folder, depending on the user's decision. The full uninstall command line for Chromium is C:\Program Files (x86)\Chromium\Resources\Uninstall\uninstcr.exe. Chromium's main file takes around 83.27 KB (85269 bytes) and its name is uninstcr.exe.

Chromium is composed of the following executables which occupy 83.27 KB (85269 bytes) on disk:

Quite a few files, folders and registry entries will be left behind when you want to remove Chromium from your PC.

You should delete the folders below after you uninstall Chromium:
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Chromium
  • C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Chromium

The files below were left behind on your disk when you remove Chromium:
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Chromium\Installer\uninstcr.exe
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Chromium\Temp\chrome-win32.zip
  • C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Chromium\Chromium Updater.lnk
  • C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Chromium\Chromium.lnk

Use regedit.exe to manually remove from the Windows Registry the data below:
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Chromium

Use regedit.exe to remove the following additional registry values from the Windows Registry:
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Chromium\DisplayIcon
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Chromium\DisplayName
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Chromium\Publisher
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Chromium\UninstallString


How to delete Chromium using Advanced Uninstaller PRO

Chromium is an application released by The Chromium Authors. Some computer users want to uninstall it. This can be hard because removing this manually takes some skill regarding PCs. The best SIMPLE practice to uninstall Chromium is to use Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Here are some detailed instructions about how to do this:





1. If you don't have Advanced Uninstaller PRO already installed on your system, add it. This is good because Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very potent uninstaller and general utility to take care of your PC.

  • download the setup by pressing the DOWNLOAD NOW button
  • set up Advanced Uninstaller PRO
2. Start Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take your time to get familiar with the program's design and number of tools available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very useful system optimizer.

3. Press the General Tools button

4. Activate the Uninstall Programs tool

5. All the applications installed on your computer will appear

6. Scroll the list of applications until you find Chromium or simply activate the Search field and type in "Chromium". If it is installed on your PC the Chromium program will be found very quickly. Notice that after you select Chromium in the list of applications, some data regarding the application is available to you:


  • Safety rating (in the lower left corner). The star rating tells you the opinion other users have regarding Chromium, from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
  • Reviews by other users - Press the Read reviews button.
  • Technical information regarding the program you are about to remove, by pressing the Properties button.
7. Press the Uninstall button. A confirmation window will appear. accept the removal by clicking the Uninstall button. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will then remove Chromium.

8. After uninstalling Chromium, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will ask you to run a cleanup. Press Next to start the cleanup. All the items that belong Chromium which have been left behind will be detected and you will be asked if you want to delete them. By uninstalling Chromium using Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you can be sure that no Windows registry entries, files or directories are left behind on your computer.
