How to uninstall PixInsight from your system

PixInsight is a software application. Keep in mind that you might be prompted for admin rights. The application's main executable file is labeled PixInsight.exe and its approximative size is 23.74 MB (24893416 bytes).

PixInsight is composed of the following executables which take 35.27 MB (36982928 bytes) on disk:

Some files and registry entries are frequently left behind when you uninstall PixInsight.

Check for and remove the following files from your disk when you uninstall PixInsight:

• C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.Search_cw5n1h2txyewy\LocalState\AppIconCache\100\{6D809377-6AF0-444B-8957-A3773F02200E}_PIXINSIGHT_BIN_PIXINSIGHT_EXE
• C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.Search_cw5n1h2txyewy\LocalState\AppIconCache\100\http___www_pixinsight_com_

Use regedit.exe to delete the following additional registry values from the Windows Registry:

• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\bam\State\UserSettings\S-1-5-21-3211313986-2105824955-1739404481-1001\\Device\HarddiskVolume8\Users\UserName\Desktop\New folder\PixInsight 1.8.exe
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\bam\State\UserSettings\S-1-5-21-3211313986-2105824955-1739404481-1001\\Device\HarddiskVolume8\Users\UserName\Desktop\PixInsight 1.8.exe

How to remove PixInsight from your PC with Advanced Uninstaller PRO

PixInsight is a program offered by the software company Pleiades Astrophoto. Frequently, users decide to erase it. Sometimes this is easier said than done because deleting this by hand takes some knowledge related to PCs. The best QUICK way to erase PixInsight is to use Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take the following steps on how to do this:





1. If you don't have Advanced Uninstaller PRO on your PC, install it. This is a good step because Advanced Uninstaller PRO is one of the best uninstaller and general tool to take care of your PC.

• go to Download Link
• download the setup by pressing the DOWNLOAD NOW button
• install Advanced Uninstaller PRO

2. Start Advanced Uninstaller PRO. It's recommended to take your time to get familiar with Advanced Uninstaller PRO's design and number of features available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very useful package of tools.

3. Press the General Tools button


4. Click on the Uninstall Programs button


5. All the applications installed on your computer will be made available to you

6. Navigate the list of applications until you find PixInsight or simply click the Search feature and type in "PixInsight". If it exists on your system the PixInsight program will be found automatically. Notice that after you click PixInsight in the list , some information regarding the program is shown to you:

• Star rating (in the left lower corner). The star rating tells you the opinion other users have regarding PixInsight, ranging from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
• Opinions by other users - Press the Read reviews button.
• Technical information regarding the app you wish to uninstall, by pressing the Properties button.

For example you can see that for PixInsight:

• The uninstall string is: C:\ProgramData\Caphyon\Advanced Installer\{89FF21A3-FA74-4ACD-BDCF-8817790F5807}\PI-windows-x64-01.08.05.1353-20170809-c.exe /i {89FF21A3-FA74-4ACD-BDCF-8817790F5807} AI_UNINSTALLER_CTP=1

7. Press the Uninstall button. A confirmation page will show up. Confirm the uninstall by clicking Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will remove PixInsight.


8. After removing PixInsight, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will ask you to run a cleanup. Press Next to proceed with the cleanup. All the items of PixInsight that have been left behind will be found and you will be asked if you want to delete them. By removing PixInsight with Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you are assured that no registry entries, files or directories are left behind on your system.

Your system will remain clean, speedy and ready to take on new tasks.
