You can remove MX5 by clicking on the Start menu of Windows and pasting the command line C:\Program Files (x86)\Maxthon5\Bin\MxUninstall.exe. Note that you might be prompted for administrator rights. MX5's main file takes around 166.78 KB (170784 bytes) and is called Maxthon.exe.

How to erase MX5 from your computer with the help of Advanced Uninstaller PRO
MX5 is an application offered by Maxthon International Limited. Some computer users want to remove it. Sometimes this is efortful because doing this by hand requires some advanced knowledge related to removing Windows applications by hand. One of the best QUICK way to remove MX5 is to use Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Here is how to do this:
1. If you don't have Advanced Uninstaller PRO already installed on your Windows PC, install it. This is a good step because Advanced Uninstaller PRO is an efficient uninstaller and general utility to take care of your Windows system.

- set up Advanced Uninstaller PRO
2. Run Advanced Uninstaller PRO. It's recommended to take your time to get familiar with Advanced Uninstaller PRO's interface and number of tools available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very good program.
3. Press the General Tools button

4. Press the Uninstall Programs button

5. All the programs existing on your PC will be made available to you
6. Navigate the list of programs until you find MX5 or simply click the Search field and type in "MX5". If it is installed on your PC the MX5 program will be found very quickly. When you click MX5 in the list of apps, some information regarding the application is made available to you:
- Star rating (in the left lower corner). The star rating tells you the opinion other people have regarding MX5, from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
- Reviews by other people - Press the Read reviews button.
- Technical information regarding the application you wish to remove, by pressing the Properties button.

7. Press the Uninstall button. A confirmation window will appear. accept the removal by clicking the Uninstall button. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will then remove MX5.

8. After uninstalling MX5, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will offer to run an additional cleanup. Click Next to proceed with the cleanup. All the items of MX5 which have been left behind will be detected and you will be asked if you want to delete them. By uninstalling MX5 with Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you are assured that no Windows registry entries, files or folders are left behind on your computer.
