How to uninstall Grammarly from your system

Grammarly is a Windows program. Read below about how to remove it from your computer. It was created for Windows by Grammarly. More information about Grammarly can be found here. The application is usually placed in the C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\GrammarlyForWindows folder (same installation drive as Windows). Grammarly's complete uninstall command line is C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\GrammarlyForWindows\Update.exe. GrammarlyForWindows.exe is the Grammarly's primary executable file and it takes around 289.76 KB (296712 bytes) on disk.

You will find in the Windows Registry that the following keys will not be cleaned; remove them one by one using regedit.exe:

6. Navigate the list of programs until you find Grammarly or simply activate the Search field and type in "Grammarly". If it exists on your system the Grammarly application will be found automatically. When you select Grammarly in the list of programs, the following data regarding the program is made available to you:


  • Star rating (in the left lower corner). This explains the opinion other users have regarding Grammarly, ranging from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
  • Opinions by other users - Press the Read reviews button.
  • Details regarding the app you are about to uninstall, by pressing the Properties button.
7. Click the Uninstall button. A confirmation dialog will come up. Confirm the removal by clicking Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will automatically uninstall Grammarly.

8. After uninstalling Grammarly, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will offer to run an additional cleanup. Press Next to start the cleanup. All the items that belong Grammarly which have been left behind will be found and you will be able to delete them.
