Following the uninstall process, the application leaves some files behind on the computer. Part_A few of these are shown below.

You should delete the folders below after you uninstall MSN:
  • C:\Program Files\MSN

Usually, the following files are left on disk:
  • C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Games\Internet Backgammon.lnk
  • C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Games\Internet Checkers.lnk
  • C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Games\Internet Hearts.lnk
  • C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Games\Internet Reversi.lnk

Use regedit.exe to manually remove from the Windows Registry the keys below:
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\{311EDE7B-141B-4a7f-BC31-A1C0D946F514}
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\{F62EC210-3A46-4AE0-AFC4-22A796213285}

Use regedit.exe to delete the following additional values from the Windows Registry:
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{0E6D2E9F-79C6-457A-8DAC-6EE10470CB69}\LocalServer32\
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{11B13FF3-C8D0-4F98-82DA-E91CE65F54FA}\LocalServer32\
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{e575fc3c-cf6b-4f21-8245-b57cec3e5a19}\LocalServer32\

A way to uninstall MSN from your PC with Advanced Uninstaller PRO

MSN is a program by Microsoft Corporation. Some computer users decide to remove this application. 2. Run Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take your time to get familiar with Advanced Uninstaller PRO's interface and wealth of functions available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very useful package of utilities.

3. Click on the General Tools category

5. All the programs installed on the computer will be shown to you

6. Scroll the list of programs until you find MSN or simply click the Search feature and type in "MSN". The MSN application will be found automatically. When you select MSN in the list of apps, the following data regarding the application is shown to you:


  • Safety rating (in the left lower corner). The star rating tells you the opinion other users have regarding MSN, from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
  • Reviews by other users - Click on the Read reviews button.
  • Details regarding the application you wish to uninstall, by clicking on the Properties button.
7. Press the Uninstall button. A confirmation window will show up. Confirm the uninstall by pressing the Uninstall button. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will then remove MSN.
