A guide to uninstall OSD from your computer

You can find below details on how to uninstall OSD for Windows. It is produced by OEM. You can find out more on OEM or check for application updates here. The program is frequently installed in the C:\Program Files\OEM\OSD directory (same installation drive as Windows). You can uninstall OSD by clicking on the Start menu of Windows and pasting the command line C:\Program Files\OEM\OSD\unins000.exe. Note that you might be prompted for administrator rights. OSD.exe is the programs's main file and it takes about 140.50 KB (143872 bytes) on disk.

A considerable amount of files, folders and Windows registry entries will not be uninstalled when you want to remove OSD from your PC.

Folders left behind when you uninstall OSD:
  • C:\Program Files\OEM\OSD

Usually, the following files are left on disk:
  • C:\Program Files\OEM\OSD\acpimof.dll
  • C:\Program Files\OEM\OSD\OSD.exe
  • C:\Program Files\OEM\OSD\OSDAPI.dll
  • C:\Program Files\OEM\OSD\OSDCtrl.exe
  • C:\Program Files\OEM\OSD\OSDSrv.exe
  • C:\Program Files\OEM\OSD\unins000.exe

Registry that is not cleaned:
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{445FFA4E-70A8-493B-9A8C-D095244D03BE}_is1

Use regedit.exe to delete the following additional values from the Windows Registry:
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\OSD\ImagePath
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\WmiAcpi\MofImagePath


A way to remove OSD from your computer using Advanced Uninstaller PRO

OSD is a program by the software company OEM. Frequently, users want to remove it. 6. Navigate the list of programs until you find OSD or simply click the Search feature and type in "OSD". If it exists on your system the OSD app will be found automatically. Notice that after you select OSD in the list of applications, the following data regarding the application is shown to you:


  • Star rating (in the lower left corner). This tells you the opinion other users have regarding OSD, ranging from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
  • Opinions by other users - Press the Read reviews button.
  • Technical information regarding the app you want to uninstall, by pressing the Properties button.
7. Click the Uninstall button. A confirmation window will come up. Confirm the removal by clicking the Uninstall button. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will automatically uninstall OSD.

8. After removing OSD, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will ask you to run a cleanup. Click Next to start the cleanup. All the items that belong OSD which have been left behind will be found and you will be asked if you want to delete them.
