How to uninstall McAfee® from your computer

Some files and registry entries are regularly left behind when you remove McAfee®.

The files below were left behind on your disk by McAfee®'s application uninstaller when you removed it:

• C:\Program Files\McAfee\WPS\McAfee®.lnk

Many times the following registry data will not be removed:

• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\McAfee.WPS

Registry values that are not removed from your PC:

• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\mc-wps-update\ImagePath

A way to uninstall McAfee® from your computer using Advanced Uninstaller PRO

McAfee® is a program marketed by McAfee, LLC. Some users choose to remove this program. Sometimes this can be troublesome because doing this manually takes some know-how regarding Windows internal functioning. One of the best SIMPLE action to remove McAfee® is to use Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Here is how to do this:





1. If you don't have Advanced Uninstaller PRO on your Windows PC, add it. This is good because Advanced Uninstaller PRO is an efficient uninstaller and general tool to clean your Windows PC.

• navigate to Download Link
• download the program by clicking on the green DOWNLOAD NOW button
• set up Advanced Uninstaller PRO

2. Run Advanced Uninstaller PRO. It's recommended to take your time to get familiar with the program's design and number of tools available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very good system optimizer.

3. Press the General Tools button


4. Activate the Uninstall Programs feature


5. All the programs existing on the computer will appear

6. Navigate the list of programs until you locate McAfee® or simply activate the Search feature and type in "McAfee®". If it exists on your system the McAfee® app will be found very quickly. Notice that after you select McAfee® in the list of programs, some information about the application is available to you:

• Star rating (in the lower left corner). This tells you the opinion other people have about McAfee®, ranging from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
• Opinions by other people - Press the Read reviews button.
• Details about the program you want to uninstall, by clicking on the Properties button.

7. Click the Uninstall button. A window asking you to confirm will show up. accept the removal by clicking Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will then remove McAfee®.


8. After removing McAfee®, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will offer to run a cleanup. Click Next to perform the cleanup. All the items of McAfee® which have been left behind will be detected and you will be asked if you want to delete them. By removing McAfee® with Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you can be sure that no registry items, files or folders are left behind on your disk.

Your PC will remain clean, speedy and able to run without errors or problems.
