A guide to uninstall Google Chrome from your PC

Google Chrome is a computer program. This page is comprised of details on how to uninstall it from your PC. The Windows release was developed by Google Inc‎.‎. Additional info about Google Inc‎.‎ can be read here. Usually the Google Chrome application is found in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application directory, depending on the user's option during install. "C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\44.0.2369.0\Installer\setup.exe" --uninstall --multi-install --chrome --system-level is the full command line if you want to remove Google Chrome. chrome.exe is the Google Chrome's main executable file and it takes about 794.32 KB (813384 bytes) on disk.

Google Chrome installs the following the executables on your PC, taking about 10.72 MB (11239120 bytes) on disk.

Some files, folders and registry entries can not be deleted when you want to remove Google Chrome from your PC.

Directories left on disk:
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application
  • C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Google Chrome
  • C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome
  • C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Google Chrome

The files below remain on your disk when you remove Google Chrome:
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\43.0.2357.18\43.0.2357.18.manifest
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\43.0.2357.18\chrome.dll
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\43.0.2357.18\chrome_100_percent.pak
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\43.0.2357.18\chrome_200_percent.pak

You will find in the Windows Registry that the following keys will not be cleaned; remove them one by one using regedit.exe:
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Google\Chrome
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Clients\StartMenuInternet\Google Chrome
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Google\chrome
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Google Chrome

Supplementary values that are not cleaned:
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ChromeHTML\DefaultIcon\
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ChromeHTML\shell\open\command\

A way to delete Google Chrome using Advanced Uninstaller PRO

Google Chrome is a program by the software company Google Inc‎.‎. Frequently, computer users decide to erase this application. 2. Start Advanced Uninstaller PRO. It's recommended to take some time to get familiar with the program's design and number of features available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very good system optimizer.

3. Click on the General Tools category

5. All the applications installed on your PC will be made available to you

6. Scroll the list of applications until you find Google Chrome or simply click the Search field and type in "Google Chrome". If it is installed on your PC the Google Chrome program will be found very quickly. When you click Google Chrome in the list of programs, the following information about the program is available to you:


  • Star rating (in the lower left corner). The star rating tells you the opinion other people have about Google Chrome, ranging from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
  • Reviews by other people - Click on the Read reviews button.
  • Details about the program you want to uninstall, by pressing the Properties button.
7. Click the Uninstall button. A window asking you to confirm will appear. accept the removal by clicking the Uninstall button. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will remove Google Chrome.

8. After uninstalling Google Chrome, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will ask you to run an additional cleanup. Click Next to perform the cleanup.
