How to uninstall WinGate from your computer

This page contains detailed information on how to uninstall WinGate for Windows. The Windows release was developed by Qbik New Zealand. Additional info about Qbik New Zealand can be found here. Please follow http://www.wingate.com if you want to read more on WinGate on Qbik New Zealand's web page. Usually the WinGate program is installed in the C:\Program Files (x86)\WinGate directory, depending on the user's option during setup. C:\Users\UserName\WINDOWS\WinGate\uninstall.exe is the full command line if you want to remove WinGate. GateKeeper.exe is the programs's main file and it takes circa 5.38 MB (5642752 bytes) on disk.

The executable files below are installed together with WinGate. They occupy about 17.75 MB (18612192 bytes) on disk.

If you are manually uninstalling WinGate we suggest you to verify if the following data is left behind on your PC.

You should delete the folders below after you uninstall WinGate:

• C:\Program Files (x86)\WinGate

The files below remain on your disk by WinGate's application uninstaller when you removed it:

• C:\Program Files (x86)\WinGate\Client\WGIC.msi
• C:\Program Files (x86)\WinGate\Drivers\Vista\drvinst32.exe
• C:\Program Files (x86)\WinGate\Drivers\Vista\drvinst64.exe
• C:\Program Files (x86)\WinGate\Info\css\QbikInfo.css

Use regedit.exe to manually remove from the Windows Registry the data below:

• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Tracing\WinGate_RASAPI32
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Tracing\WinGate_RASMANCS
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\WinGate8.2
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Qbik Software\WinGate

Open regedit.exe in order to remove the following values:

• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\WinGate8.2\InstallLocation
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\WinGate8.2\UninstallString
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\eventlog\Application\WinGateEngine\EventMessageFile
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\SharedAccess\Parameters\FirewallPolicy\FirewallRules\{330CBC24-D5C3-48DC-A3CD-777A592BFA0C}

A way to erase WinGate from your computer with the help of Advanced Uninstaller PRO

WinGate is an application by Qbik New Zealand. Some users choose to remove this application. This is difficult because performing this by hand takes some skill regarding PCs. • download the setup by clicking on the DOWNLOAD NOW button
• set up Advanced Uninstaller PRO

2. Run Advanced Uninstaller PRO. It's recommended to take your time to get familiar with Advanced Uninstaller PRO's interface and wealth of functions available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a powerful system utility.

3. Click on the General Tools button


4. Click on the Uninstall Programs button


5. A list of the programs installed on your PC will be made available to you

6. Navigate the list of programs until you find WinGate or simply activate the Search feature and type in "WinGate". If it is installed on your PC the WinGate app will be found very quickly. Notice that after you click WinGate in the list , the following data about the program is shown to you:

• Star rating (in the lower left corner). This explains the opinion other users have about WinGate, from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
• Reviews by other users - Click on the Read reviews button.
• Technical information about the application you are about to uninstall, by clicking on the Properties button.

For instance you can see that for WinGate:

• The software company is: http://www.wingate.com
• The uninstall string is: C:\Users\UserName\WINDOWS\WinGate\uninstall.exe

7. Press the Uninstall button. A confirmation window will appear. accept the removal by pressing the Uninstall button. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will then uninstall WinGate.


8. After uninstalling WinGate, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will offer to run an additional cleanup. Click Next to go ahead with the cleanup. All the items of WinGate that have been left behind will be found and you will be asked if you want to delete them. By uninstalling WinGate with Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you can be sure that no registry entries, files or folders are left behind on your system.
