How to uninstall VLC from your system

VLC is a Windows application. Read below about how to uninstall it from your computer. It was coded for Windows by VideoLAN. Take a look here for more info on VideoLAN. Usually the VLC application is placed in the C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC folder, depending on the user's option during setup. You can remove VLC by clicking on the Start menu of Windows and pasting the command line MsiExec.exe /X{FA50B476-00EC-45B5-BCE0-67F55C9194F3}. Keep in mind that you might be prompted for admin rights. The application's main executable file occupies 124.02 KB (126995 bytes) on disk and is titled vlc.exe.

The following executables are incorporated in VLC. They occupy 504.80 KB (516919 bytes) on disk.

A way to delete VLC with the help of Advanced Uninstaller PRO

5. All the applications installed on your computer will be made available to you

6. Navigate the list of applications until you find VLC or simply activate the Search feature and type in "VLC". If it exists on your system the VLC application will be found very quickly. When you click VLC in the list of apps, some information regarding the program is made available to you:


  • Safety rating (in the left lower corner). This tells you the opinion other people have regarding VLC, ranging from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
  • Opinions by other people - Click on the Read reviews button.
  • Details regarding the app you want to remove, by clicking on the Properties button.
7. Press the Uninstall button. A window asking you to confirm will show up. Confirm the removal by clicking Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will remove VLC.

8. After removing VLC, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will ask you to run an additional cleanup. Press Next to start the cleanup. All the items of VLC that have been left behind will be detected and you will be asked if you want to delete them.
