A guide to uninstall TrueCrypt from your computer

TrueCrypt is a software application. Note that you might be prompted for admin rights. The application's main executable file is named TrueCrypt.exe and its approximative size is 1.29 MB (1351872 bytes).

TrueCrypt is composed of the following executables which occupy 5.72 MB (6001432 bytes) on disk:

  • TrueCrypt Format.exe (1.44 MB)
  • TrueCrypt Setup.exe (3.00 MB)
  • TrueCrypt.exe (1.29 MB)

How to delete TrueCrypt with the help of Advanced Uninstaller PRO

TrueCrypt is a program released by TrueCrypt Foundation. Some computer users choose to erase this program. Sometimes this is efortful because doing this manually takes some advanced knowledge regarding Windows program uninstallation. One of the best SIMPLE procedure to erase TrueCrypt is to use Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Here is how to do this:





1. If you don't have Advanced Uninstaller PRO already installed on your PC, add it. This is good because Advanced Uninstaller PRO is an efficient uninstaller and general utility to clean your computer.

  • download the program by clicking on the DOWNLOAD NOW button
  • install Advanced Uninstaller PRO
2. Start Advanced Uninstaller PRO. It's recommended to take your time to get familiar with Advanced Uninstaller PRO's interface and number of functions available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a powerful package of tools.

3. Press the General Tools button

4. Press the Uninstall Programs tool

5. All the programs installed on your PC will be made available to you

6. Scroll the list of programs until you locate TrueCrypt or simply activate the Search field and type in "TrueCrypt". The TrueCrypt application will be found very quickly. Notice that after you click TrueCrypt in the list of apps, some data about the application is made available to you:


  • Safety rating (in the lower left corner). The star rating explains the opinion other users have about TrueCrypt, ranging from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
  • Opinions by other users - Press the Read reviews button.
  • Technical information about the app you are about to remove, by clicking on the Properties button.

7. Press the Uninstall button. A window asking you to confirm will come up. accept the removal by clicking the Uninstall button. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will remove TrueCrypt.

8. After uninstalling TrueCrypt, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will ask you to run a cleanup. Click Next to perform the cleanup. All the items that belong TrueCrypt that have been left behind will be detected and you will be able to delete them. By uninstalling TrueCrypt with Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you are assured that no registry entries, files or directories are left behind on your computer.

Your system will remain clean, speedy and able to serve you properly.
