A guide to uninstall TrueCrypt from your system

A way to remove TrueCrypt from your PC with the help of Advanced Uninstaller PRO

TrueCrypt is a program released by TrueCrypt Foundation. Some computer users choose to erase this program. Sometimes this is easier said than done because uninstalling this by hand requires some advanced knowledge regarding removing Windows applications by hand. 1. If you don't have Advanced Uninstaller PRO on your Windows system, install it. This is good because Advanced Uninstaller PRO is one of the best uninstaller and all around utility to maximize the performance of your Windows PC.

  • download the setup by pressing the DOWNLOAD button
  • install Advanced Uninstaller PRO
2. Start Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take your time to admire the program's interface and number of features available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very good program.

3. Click on the General Tools button

4. Activate the Uninstall Programs feature

5. All the applications existing on the computer will appear

6. Scroll the list of applications until you find TrueCrypt or simply activate the Search feature and type in "TrueCrypt". If it is installed on your PC the TrueCrypt program will be found very quickly. Notice that after you click TrueCrypt in the list , the following data about the application is available to you:


  • Safety rating (in the left lower corner). This explains the opinion other people have about TrueCrypt, from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
  • Reviews by other people - Click on the Read reviews button.
  • Technical information about the application you are about to remove, by pressing the Properties button.

7. Click the Uninstall button. A confirmation page will appear. Confirm the uninstall by pressing Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will automatically uninstall TrueCrypt.

8. After removing TrueCrypt, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will ask you to run an additional cleanup. Press Next to go ahead with the cleanup. All the items of TrueCrypt that have been left behind will be detected and you will be able to delete them. By removing TrueCrypt with Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you can be sure that no registry entries, files or folders are left behind on your system.
