How to uninstall RStudio from your PC

RStudio is a Windows program. If you are manually uninstalling RStudio we advise you to check if the following data is left behind on your PC.

Directories that were found:

• C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Local\RStudio-Desktop
• C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Roaming\RStudio

The files below remain on your disk by RStudio's application uninstaller when you removed it:

• C:\Program Files\RStudio\bin\rstudio.exe
• C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Local\RStudio-Desktop\client-state\environment-grid.persistent
• C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Local\RStudio-Desktop\client-state\workbenchp.persistent
• C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Local\RStudio-Desktop\history_database

You will find in the Windows Registry that the following data will not be removed; remove them one by one using regedit.exe:

• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\RStudio

Use regedit.exe to delete the following additional values from the Windows Registry:

• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\MuiCache\C:\Program Files\RStudio\bin\rstudio.exe

A way to remove RStudio with the help of Advanced Uninstaller PRO
