Arduino has the habit of leaving behind some leftovers.

Directories that were left behind:
  • C:\UserNames\UserNameName\AppData\Local\Arduino15

Check for and delete the following files from your disk when you uninstall Arduino:
  • C:\UserNames\UserNameName\AppData\Local\Arduino15\library_index.json
  • C:\UserNames\UserNameName\AppData\Local\Arduino15\package_index.json
  • C:\UserNames\UserNameName\AppData\Local\Arduino15\preferences.txt

Frequently the following registry data will not be cleaned:
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Arduino file
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Arduino
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Arduino

Open regedit.exe in order to remove the following registry values:
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\SharedAccess\Parameters\FirewallPolicy\FirewallRules\TCP Query UserName{2022D6D0-020A-4F8B-816C-80E3CB4E004F}C:\program files (x86)\arduino\java\bin\javaw.exe

A way to uninstall Arduino from your PC with the help of Advanced Uninstaller PRO

Arduino is an application offered by Arduino LLC. Some users decide to uninstall it. Sometimes this can be hard because removing this by hand takes some experience regarding PCs. 3. Click on the General Tools category

5. A list of the applications existing on the PC will be shown to you

6. Scroll the list of applications until you find Arduino or simply activate the Search field and type in "Arduino". The Arduino app will be found very quickly. After you click Arduino in the list of apps, some data regarding the application is made available to you:


  • Safety rating (in the lower left corner). This tells you the opinion other users have regarding Arduino, from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
  • Opinions by other users - Click on the Read reviews button.
  • Technical information regarding the application you wish to remove, by clicking on the Properties button.
7. Press the Uninstall button. A window asking you to confirm will appear. Confirm the removal by clicking the Uninstall button. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will then remove Arduino.

8. After uninstalling Arduino, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will ask you to run a cleanup. Press Next to proceed with the cleanup. All the items that belong Arduino which have been left behind will be detected and you will be able to delete them.
