If planning to uninstall Arduino you should check if the following data is left behind on your PC.

You will find in the Windows Registry that the following keys will not be removed; remove them one by one using regedit.exe:
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.ino
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Arduino file
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Arduino.Document
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Arduino

Open regedit.exe in order to delete the following values:
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Arduino file\DefaultIcon\
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Arduino file\shell\edit\command\
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Arduino file\shell\open\command\
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Arduino.Document\shell\open\command\


A way to remove Arduino from your computer using Advanced Uninstaller PRO

Arduino is an application marketed by the software company Arduino LLC. Sometimes, computer users decide to uninstall it. This can be difficult because deleting this by hand requires some skill related to PCs. One of the best QUICK manner to uninstall Arduino is to use Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take the following steps on how to do this:





1. If you don't have Advanced Uninstaller PRO already installed on your system, install it. This is a good step because Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very potent uninstaller and general tool to clean your PC.

  • install Advanced Uninstaller PRO
2. Start Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take some time to admire Advanced Uninstaller PRO's design and wealth of functions available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a powerful Windows optimizer.

3. Click on the General Tools button

4. Activate the Uninstall Programs button

5. All the applications installed on your PC will be shown to you

6. Navigate the list of applications until you find Arduino or simply click the Search feature and type in "Arduino". If it exists on your system the Arduino program will be found automatically. When you click Arduino in the list of programs, the following data regarding the application is made available to you:


  • Star rating (in the left lower corner). The star rating explains the opinion other people have regarding Arduino, from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
  • Reviews by other people - Click on the Read reviews button.
  • Details regarding the app you wish to uninstall, by pressing the Properties button.
7. Click the Uninstall button. A confirmation dialog will appear. Confirm the uninstall by clicking Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will automatically remove Arduino.

8. After removing Arduino, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will ask you to run a cleanup. Click Next to start the cleanup. All the items of Arduino that have been left behind will be found and you will be asked if you want to delete them.
