A guide to uninstall RetroArch from your PC

When planning to uninstall RetroArch you should check if the following data is left behind on your PC.

You will find in the Windows Registry that the following data will not be uninstalled; remove them one by one using regedit.exe:

• HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\DirectInput\RETROARCH.EXE0000000000EBCA95
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Steam App 1118310

Open regedit.exe in order to delete the following values:

• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\MuiCache\C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RetroArch\retroarch.exe.FriendlyAppName

A way to remove RetroArch from your PC using Advanced Uninstaller PRO

RetroArch is a program by Libretro. Sometimes, users decide to remove it. Sometimes this can be efortful because uninstalling this manually requires some skill regarding PCs. One of the best SIMPLE solution to remove RetroArch is to use Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Here is how to do this:





1. If you don't have Advanced Uninstaller PRO on your system, add it. This is good because Advanced Uninstaller PRO is an efficient uninstaller and all around utility to optimize your system.

• navigate to Download Link
• download the program by pressing the DOWNLOAD NOW button
• set up Advanced Uninstaller PRO

2. Start Advanced Uninstaller PRO. It's recommended to take your time to admire Advanced Uninstaller PRO's interface and number of features available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very useful Windows tool.

3. Click on the General Tools button


4. Click on the Uninstall Programs feature


5. A list of the programs existing on the PC will be made available to you

6. Scroll the list of programs until you locate RetroArch or simply activate the Search field and type in "RetroArch". If it exists on your system the RetroArch program will be found automatically. Notice that when you select RetroArch in the list of apps, some data about the application is made available to you:

• Star rating (in the lower left corner). The star rating explains the opinion other users have about RetroArch, ranging from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
• Opinions by other users - Click on the Read reviews button.
• Technical information about the program you are about to uninstall, by pressing the Properties button.

For example you can see that for RetroArch:

• The software company is: https://www.retroarch.com
• The uninstall string is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steam.exe

7. Press the Uninstall button. A confirmation window will come up. accept the uninstall by clicking the Uninstall button. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will automatically uninstall RetroArch.


8. After uninstalling RetroArch, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will offer to run a cleanup. Press Next to start the cleanup. All the items that belong RetroArch that have been left behind will be detected and you will be able to delete them. By removing RetroArch using Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you can be sure that no Windows registry entries, files or folders are left behind on your computer.

Your Windows PC will remain clean, speedy and ready to run without errors or problems.
