How to uninstall RetroArch from your PC

This page contains complete information on how to uninstall RetroArch for Windows. The Windows version was developed by Libretro. You can find out more on Libretro or check for application updates here. More information about RetroArch can be found at https://www.retroarch.com/. RetroArch is usually set up in the C:\Program Files\RetroArch-Win64 folder, regulated by the user's decision. The full command line for removing RetroArch is C:\Program Files\RetroArch-Win64\uninstall.exe. Keep in mind that if you will type this command in Start / Run Note you might be prompted for administrator rights. The application's main executable file has a size of 13.83 MB (14499613 bytes) on disk and is named retroarch.exe.

The following executables are contained in RetroArch. They take 14.33 MB (15024327 bytes) on disk.

If you are manually uninstalling RetroArch we advise you to verify if the following data is left behind on your PC.

Check for and remove the following files from your disk when you uninstall RetroArch:

• C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.Search_cw5n1h2txyewy\LocalState\AppIconCache\100\C__Users_UserName_Desktop_Arch_RetroArch website_url
• C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.Search_cw5n1h2txyewy\LocalState\AppIconCache\100\C__Users_UserName_Desktop_Arch_retroarch_exe

You will find in the Windows Registry that the following keys will not be cleaned; remove them one by one using regedit.exe:

• HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\DirectInput\RETROARCH.EXE0000000000DD3F1D
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\RetroArch

Open regedit.exe in order to remove the following values:

• HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\MuiCache\C:\Users\UserName\Desktop\Arch\retroarch.exe.FriendlyAppName

How to remove RetroArch with the help of Advanced Uninstaller PRO

RetroArch is a program released by the software company Libretro. Some computer users decide to erase this program. 2. Start Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take your time to admire the program's interface and wealth of features available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very useful Windows optimizer.

3. Press the General Tools button


4. Click on the Uninstall Programs feature


5. A list of the applications installed on the computer will be made available to you

6. Navigate the list of applications until you locate RetroArch or simply activate the Search field and type in "RetroArch". The RetroArch program will be found automatically. When you click RetroArch in the list of programs, the following data regarding the program is shown to you:

• Safety rating (in the left lower corner). This tells you the opinion other people have regarding RetroArch, from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
• Reviews by other people - Press the Read reviews button.
• Technical information regarding the app you wish to uninstall, by pressing the Properties button.

For example you can see that for RetroArch:

• The web site of the application is: https://www.retroarch.com/
• The uninstall string is: C:\Program Files\RetroArch-Win64\uninstall.exe

7. Click the Uninstall button. A confirmation window will show up. Confirm the removal by clicking Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will remove RetroArch.


8. After removing RetroArch, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will ask you to run a cleanup. Press Next to go ahead with the cleanup. All the items that belong RetroArch that have been left behind will be found and you will be able to delete them. By uninstalling RetroArch with Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you are assured that no registry items, files or folders are left behind on your computer.
