A way to uninstall CrashPlan from your computer

CrashPlan is a Windows program. Keep in mind that this location can vary being determined by the user's decision. The full command line for removing CrashPlan is MsiExec.exe /X{7ED69159-444F-43B6-B237-D6F655F492FF}. Note that if you will type this command in Start / Run Note you might be prompted for administrator rights. CrashPlanDesktop.exe is the programs's main file and it takes about 260.27 KB (266520 bytes) on disk.

Some files and registry entries are usually left behind when you remove CrashPlan.

Folders found on disk after you uninstall CrashPlan from your PC:
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\CrashPlan
  • C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\CrashPlan
  • C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Roaming\CrashPlan

The files below remain on your disk by CrashPlan's application uninstaller when you removed it:

How to remove CrashPlan from your computer using Advanced Uninstaller PRO

CrashPlan is a program offered by the software company Code 42 Software. Frequently, computer users decide to erase this application. This can be efortful because performing this manually takes some know-how related to Windows program uninstallation. One of the best QUICK practice to erase CrashPlan is to use Advanced Uninstaller PRO. Take the following steps on how to do this:





1. If you don't have Advanced Uninstaller PRO already installed on your PC, add it. This is a good step because Advanced Uninstaller PRO is an efficient uninstaller and all around tool to optimize your PC.

  • navigate to Download Link
  • download the setup by pressing the DOWNLOAD NOW button
  • set up Advanced Uninstaller PRO
2. Start Advanced Uninstaller PRO. It's recommended to take your time to get familiar with the program's interface and wealth of functions available. Advanced Uninstaller PRO is a very useful package of utilities.

3. Press the General Tools button

4. Click on the Uninstall Programs feature

5. A list of the applications existing on the computer will be made available to you

6. Scroll the list of applications until you locate CrashPlan or simply click the Search feature and type in "CrashPlan". If it is installed on your PC the CrashPlan program will be found automatically. Notice that when you click CrashPlan in the list , the following information regarding the program is made available to you:


  • Safety rating (in the left lower corner). This tells you the opinion other people have regarding CrashPlan, ranging from "Highly recommended" to "Very dangerous".
  • Reviews by other people - Press the Read reviews button.
  • Technical information regarding the app you want to uninstall, by pressing the Properties button.

7. Click the Uninstall button. A confirmation dialog will come up. Confirm the removal by clicking Uninstall. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will automatically remove CrashPlan.

8. After removing CrashPlan, Advanced Uninstaller PRO will ask you to run an additional cleanup. Press Next to perform the cleanup. All the items that belong CrashPlan which have been left behind will be found and you will be asked if you want to delete them. By uninstalling CrashPlan with Advanced Uninstaller PRO, you are assured that no Windows registry items, files or folders are left behind on your PC.
