How to uninstall Brave from your PC

Following the uninstall process, the application leaves some files behind on the PC. Part_A few of these are shown below.

You should delete the folders below after you uninstall Brave:

• C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Local\BraveSoftware\Brave-Browser

The files below remain on your disk by Brave when you uninstall it:

Use regedit.exe to manually remove from the Windows Registry the keys below:

• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\ShimInclusionList\brave.exe
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\BraveSoftware Brave-Browser
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\MozillaPlugins\@tools.brave.com/BraveSoftware Update;version=3
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\MozillaPlugins\@tools.brave.com/BraveSoftware Update;version=9

Use regedit.exe to remove the following additional registry values from the Windows Registry:

• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\brave\Description

• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\bravem\Description
• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\bravem\DisplayName
