How to uninstall iTunes from your computer

iTunes is a Windows application. You should delete the folders below after you uninstall iTunes:
  • C:\Program Files\iTunes
  • C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\iTunes
  • C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\iTunes
  • C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes

The files below were left behind on your disk by iTunes when you uninstall it:
  • C:\Program Files\iTunes\About iTunes.rtf
  • C:\Program Files\iTunes\Acknowledgements.rtf
  • C:\Program Files\iTunes\CD Configuration\gcdrdll.cfg
  • C:\Program Files\iTunes\CD Configuration\gcdroem.cfg

Registry keys:
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.aa\OpenWithList\iTunes.exe
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.AIF
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.CDA
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.cdda

Use regedit.exe to remove the following additional registry values from the Windows Registry:
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications\iTunes.exe\DefaultIcon\
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications\iTunes.exe\shell\open\command\
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications\iTunes.exe\shell\play\command\
  • HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AudioCD\shell\play\command\

7. Click the Uninstall button. A window asking you to confirm will come up. accept the uninstall by clicking the Uninstall button. Advanced Uninstaller PRO will automatically remove iTunes.
